It was the win we were after today after some narrow misses for PRESS LIGHTLY on the home surface. She has been prepared since the yearling phase and we are going to have a bit of fun here.
PRESS LIGHTLY has been unlucky not to find the winner’s stall in her first three starts. But she would have no such trouble today at Port Macquarie.
From the low draw, the Press Statement filly settled perfectly one out, one back. Heading into the straight the rail opened up and Ben Looker happily obliged taking the inside run. There was still a little bit of work to do to reel in the leader but our girl was up to the task, lengthening nicely to score by 0.8L.
